ENDORSEMENTS FOR JEREMY HALES

I am proud to offer my personal and wholehearted endorsement of Jeremy Hales as the Republican candidate for Wasatch County Sheriff.

I had the privilege of calling Wasatch County home for 25 years. During that time, I served as a Police Officer with the Heber City Police Department, ultimately retiring as the Assistant Chief of Police in 2018. I currently serve as the Emergency Management Director for Washington County, Utah, where Emergency Management operates as a specialized unit within the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

I have known and worked with Jeremy Hales throughout his 25-year law enforcement career. I consider him a close personal friend and valuable work confidant. Having worked alongside him in numerous capacities, I can confidently say that Jeremy possesses the experience, knowledge, integrity, and leadership necessary to serve as an outstanding Sheriff. He is highly competent in all aspects of Sheriff’s Office operations, including corrections, patrol, criminal investigations, administration, 911 and communications, and emergency management. Few individuals have the depth and breadth of experience that Jeremy brings to this position.

My professional relationship with Jeremy has been particularly strong in the area of emergency management. We have worked side by side managing incidents ranging from relatively minor emergencies to large, complex events requiring significant coordination, resources, and leadership. We have also taught classes together throughout Utah, helping develop current and future public safety leaders in Incident Command and emergency response. Jeremy and I continue to communicate regularly, sometimes multiple times a month, often times working together to coordinate incidents within our regions, or discussing operational challenges, and emergency management issues.

These experiences have given me a unique opportunity to see Jeremy’s leadership firsthand, not simply when things are going well, but when difficult decisions must be made under pressure. He is thoughtful, decisive, knowledgeable, and willing to make the tough calls that come with leadership. He understands that being Sheriff is about much more than enforcing the law. It is about protecting people, supporting employees, managing resources responsibly, and earning the trust and respect of the community.

Jeremy Hales is a true lawman. He understands the responsibility that comes with wearing the badge and the importance of making decisions based on what is right, rather than what is easy or popular. I have every confidence that he will make the best decisions possible for the citizens of Wasatch County, always keeping their safety, well-being, and constitutional rights at the forefront.

Having spent much of my professional career in Wasatch County, I care deeply about the community and the people who call it home. I have many friends there still including Jeremy Hales. I know firsthand the importance of having the right person leading the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office.

For those still undecided, I encourage you to look beyond social media, rumors, political rhetoric, and sensationalized reporting. Seek reliable information and speak with trusted community leaders, civic leaders, and law enforcement professionals who have firsthand knowledge of the candidates, their experience, and their character.

Consider each candidate’s record of service, leadership, and commitment to Wasatch County. Look beyond titles, status, and campaign promises. Ask who has invested years serving this community, who has demonstrated sound judgment under pressure, and who understands the responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office. Your decision should be based on proven experience, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the people of Wasatch County — not rumors or political noise.

Based on my many years of working with Jeremy, both as a fellow law enforcement officer and as an emergency management professional and friend, I wholeheartedly endorse Jeremy Hales for Wasatch County Sheriff. I believe the citizens of Wasatch County would be well served by his experience, judgment, character, and dedication to public service.
